FAQ
Questions companies ask us.
How much does it cost to host an intern in Spain?+
For Erasmus+ placements there is no fee for the host company — Spain Internship is paid by the sending side. For private placements outside Erasmus+ (non-EU students, graduate hires, longer paid positions), a small administrative fee applies to cover screening, contracting and reporting. Your account manager quotes it before any commitment.
Do we have to pay the intern a stipend?+
Erasmus+ students already receive an EU grant from their university, so a company stipend is appreciated but not legally required for placements under 6 months. Many hosts offer a €300–€800 monthly allowance, meal vouchers, or transport reimbursement. Paid graduate internships and stays over 6 months typically pay €800–€1,500/month, following Spanish minimum-wage rules.
How long can an intern stay?+
Erasmus+ traineeships run 2 to 12 months. Non-EU student-visa placements can run up to 12 months and are renewable in some cases. Graduate placements outside Erasmus+ can be structured as fixed-term contracts (contrato en prácticas) for up to 2 years under Spanish labour law.
What are our legal obligations as a host company?+
For Erasmus+: sign the tripartite Learning Agreement, provide a defined workplan, assign a mentor, and complete mid-term and final evaluations. The intern arrives with European Health Insurance and civil liability cover. For non-Erasmus placements we provide a convenio de prácticas registered with the appropriate Spanish authority. All reporting is handled by our team.
How fast can you send us candidates?+
For live roles in your sector we usually send a first vetted shortlist of 3–5 candidates within 5 to 10 business days. For niche profiles (specific tech stacks, native speakers, specialised industries) allow 2 to 3 weeks. Interview scheduling across time zones is coordinated by our team.
Can we hire the intern permanently at the end?+
Yes — around 30% of our hosts do. There is no conversion fee; the intern is free to sign a standard Spanish employment contract with you once the placement ends. We provide a template offer letter and can help with the transition paperwork if the intern needs to change visa status.
Which languages do your candidates speak?+
Our pool is drawn from 30+ European countries. Common combinations include native French / fluent English / conversational Spanish, native German / fluent English, native Italian / fluent Spanish, and native English / intermediate Spanish. You specify the language profile you need and we filter accordingly.
How do you screen candidates?+
Every candidate submits a CV, motivation letter and video introduction, and completes a 30-minute screening call with a coordinator. We verify university enrolment, check Learning Agreement compatibility, and assess English level (and Spanish where relevant) against CEFR standards. You only see candidates who cleared all four checks.
