FAQ
Common questions from students.
Who is eligible for an internship in Spain?+
Any student or recent graduate aged 18+ enrolled in — or graduated within the last 12 months from — a higher-education institution or accredited VET centre is eligible. Most participants come on Erasmus+ funding, but we also support self-funded placements, non-EU nationals on student visas, and gap-year candidates who already hold a bachelor's degree.
How much does the placement service cost?+
Browsing and applying to open vacancies is free. Personalised premium placement packages are tiered by student profile (EU or non-EU) and internship type (paid, unpaid, with or without visa) — current prices are shown on our custom placement page. A refundable deposit of €150 (stays under 6 months) or €200 (stays over 6 months) is only collected after a host company confirms your offer.
How long does the process take from application to first day?+
Free self-apply depends on your own search rhythm. For premium placement, from CV submission to a signed offer our average is 4 to 6 weeks. Non-EU students requiring a visa should allow an additional 6 to 8 weeks for consulate appointments and document apostille. We recommend starting at least 3 months before your target start date.
What languages do I need to intern in Spain?+
English is enough for most IT, business, marketing, engineering and international-facing roles — especially in Madrid and Barcelona. Hospitality, customer service, teaching and healthcare placements usually require at least B1 Spanish. Each vacancy lists the exact language requirement upfront.
Do I need a visa to do an internship in Spain?+
EU/EEA/Swiss nationals need no visa. Non-EU nationals staying under 90 days can enter on the Schengen waiver (or a short-stay Schengen visa depending on nationality). Stays over 90 days require a Spanish student visa, obtained at your local consulate before departure. Our Non-EU Premium packages include full visa documentation support.
Will the internship be paid?+
It depends on the host, sector and duration. Erasmus+ traineeships often carry a monthly stipend of €300–€800 plus meal or transport allowance. Longer paid placements — typically 6+ months in IT, engineering, finance or hospitality management — reach €1,000–€1,500/month. Every vacancy states the compensation clearly.
Do you help me find accommodation?+
Yes — for premium placements. Your local advisor sends vetted housing options (shared flats, host families, student residences) matched to your budget, city and dates. In Barcelona, Madrid, Seville and Valencia we have direct arrangements with residences and can pre-book your first month before arrival. Self-apply students receive our free housing guide and can book independently.
What happens if something goes wrong during my placement?+
Premium placement students get a named advisor plus a 24/7 emergency line. If the placement doesn't match what was agreed, we mediate with the host and — in the rare case it can't be resolved — we source a replacement placement at no extra cost. Our mid-term evaluation catches most issues before they escalate. Self-apply students can contact our support desk for guidance.
